Factors Affecting the Environmental Awareness of Farmers in Assiut Governorate in the Field of Safe Use of Agricultural Pesticides

Abstract

This research aims to study the factors affecting the environmental guidance awareness of farmers in Assiut Governorate in the field of safe use of agricultural pesticides. A random sample of 350 farmers was selected from the villages of the governorate that were geographically divided, then an administrative center was selected from each geographical region, then a village was randomly selected from each center. The data was collected using a questionnaire form through a personal interview, then the data was collected, reviewed and analyzed using the Chi-square, Tcher and Kramer tests. Frequencies and percentages were also used in the description. It became clear from the data analysis that age, educational level, size of agricultural holdings, degree of social participation, cultural openness, and number of information sources, significantly affect the dependent variable, which is the level of environmental guidance awareness by 23%, and that the most influential of them is the information sources. The most important problems facing the sample members when using pesticides are not using them in the correct way and high prices, as well as methods of disposing of empty containers to preserve the environment. Therefore, the research recommends holding many seminars in the guidance centers in the villages in this field, and conducting field experiments in this field, with the help of satellite channels and social media to help spread their recommendations and know the needs of their use.

استهدف هذا البحث دراسة العوامل المؤثرة على الوعي الارشادي البيئي للزراع في محافظة أسيوط في مجال الاستخدام الآمن للمبيدات الزراعية، ولقد تم اختيار عينة عشوائية حجمها 350مزارعآ من قري المحافظة التي قسمت جغرافيا ثم تم اختيار مركزا إداريا عشوائيا من كل منطقة جغرافية ثم اختيار قرية عشوائيا من كل مركز منها، وتم جمع البيانات باستخدام استمارة استبيان بالمقابلة الشخصية ثم تجميع ومراجعة وتحليل البيانات باستخدام اختبار مربع كاي وتشيبروكرامر ،كما استخدمت التكرارات والنسب المئوية في الوصف واتضح من تحليل البيانات ان كل من السن، المستوى التعليمي ،وحجم الحيازة الزراعية ،ودرجة المشاركة الاجتماعية ،والانفتاح الحضاري ،وعدد مصادر المعلومات ،تؤثر معنويا في المتغير التابع وهو مستوي الوعى الإرشادي البيئي بنسبة 32%، وان اكثرهم تأثيرا هو مصادر المعلومات ، كما ان اهم المشكلات التي تواجه أفراد العينة عند استخدام المبيدات هو عدم الاستخدام لها بالطريقة السليمة وارتفاع الأسعار ، وكذلك طرق التخلص من العبوات الفارغة حفاظا علي البيئة، ومن ثم يوصى البحث بعمل العديد من الندوات بالمراكز الإرشادية بالقري في هذا المجال ، وإجراء تجارب حقلية في هذا المجال ، مع الاستعانة بالقنوات الفضائية ووسائل التواصل الاجتماعي للمساعدة في نشر توصياتها ومعرفة احتياجات استعمالها.
