The Problems Facing Workers in the Rural Health Units in Assiut Governorate

Abstract

The health sector is receiving increased attention and care because it is one of the main areas of human development in particular and the development path of the country in general, and despite this the health situation in the Egyptian countryside is characterized by two very dangerous features; lack of ways to prevent disease and the inability to treatment. We noted the low level of central hospitals and the inefficiency of health units in the Egyptian villages.
Therefore, the objectives of this research were to identify the material and human capabilities in the rural health units in the study villages, and to identify the most important difficulties and problems facing the rural health units, and to identify the most important proposals to improve health services in rural health units. To achieve these goals, the governorate was divided geographically into north, south, east, west and central, and a center was chosen from each direction in a random manner, and from those centers a random village was chosen from each center, then a health unit was chosen from each of the selected villages. The data was collected using a questionnaire form from the workers in these units (doctors- nurses- administrators- workers).

یحظى القطاع الصحى باهتمام وعنایة متزایدة نظرا لأنه من المجالات الرئیسیة للتنمیة البشریة بشکل خاص والمسار التنموى للبلاد بشکل عام، وبالرغم من ذلک فإن الحالة الصحیة فى الریف المصرى تتسم بسمتین فى غایة الخطورة وهما الإفتقار إلى سبل الوقایة من المرض وعدم القدرة على العلاج کما یلاحظ المستوى المتدنى لمستشفیات المراکز وعدم کفاءة الوحدات الصحیة فى القرى المصریة.
لذلک کان من أهداف هذا البحث التعرف على الإمکانیات المادیة والبشریة فى الوحدات الصحیة الریفیة فى قرى الدراسة، والتعرف على أبرز الصعوبات والمشکلات التى تواجه الوحدات الصحیة الریفیة، والتعرف على أهم المقترحات لتحسین الخدمات الصحیة بالوحدات الصحیة الریفیة. ولتحقیق هذه الأهداف تم تقسیم المحافظة جغرافیا إلى شمال وجنوب وشرق وغرب ووسط وتم اختیار مرکز من کل اتجاه بطریقة عشوائیة ومن تلک المراکز تم اختیار قریة عشوائیة من کل مرکز، وتم اختیار وحدة صحیة من کل قریة من القرى المختارة. وتم جمع البیانات باستخدام استمارة استبیان من العاملین بتلک الوحدات (أطباء – ممرضین – ممرضات – إداریین – عمال).
