The Impact of Modern Technology on the Productivity and Economic Efficiency for Wheat crop in the New Valley Governorate "A Case Study in the Kharga Region"

Abstract

Adopting modern techniques in caltivating strategic crops is important, especially in limited land and water resources for horizontal expansion. Technology raises the efficiency of  available resources and wheat crop was chosen for its great importance in increasing Egyptian food security. The research aimed to study the impact of modern technologies on  economic efficiency of wheat crop in the New Valley Governorate, To achieve this goal, a cluster sample was drawn from  Al-Kharga district, divided into two groups according to the cultivated wheat varieties, each group was divided into sub-groups representing farmers who used mechanization. Using the analysis of variance method to compare the different technological groups in terms of economic efficiency. Results show that the third technological combination, which represents farmers high productive seeds with the use of agricultural mechanization, was superior to its counterpart from other combinations. Therefore, the study recommended encouraging farmers to adopt the idea of using the agricultural machine in addition to the high productive seeds in producting wheat crop to included in all cultivated areas in New Valley Governorate.

يعتبر اتباع التقنيات الحديثة في زراعة المحاصيل الاستراتيجية من الأمور الهامة خاصة في ظل محدودية الموارد الأرضية والمائية اللازمة للتوسع الأفقي، حيث تعمل التكنولوجيا على رفع كفاءة استخدام الموارد المتاحة، وقد تم اختيار محصول القمح لأهميته الكبيرة في تحقيق الأمن الغذائي المصري، واستهدف البحث دراسة أثر التقنيات الحديثة على مؤشرات الكفاءة الاقتصادية لمحصول القمح بمحافظة الوادي الجديد، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف تم سحب عينة عنقودية من مركز الخارجة تنقسم إلى مجموعتين وفقاً لأصناف القمح المزروعة وتم تقسيم كل مجموعة بشكل غير متجانس إلى مجموعات مصغرة تمثل المزارعين المستخدمين للميكنة أثناء عمليات الخدمة دون غيرهم. وتم استخدام إسلوب تحليل التباين للمقارنة بين المجموعات التكنولوجية المختلفة من حيث مؤشرات الكفاءة الاقتصادية، وأوضحت النتائج تفوق التوليفة التكنولوجية الثالثة الممثلة لمزارعي التقاوي المحسنة مع استخدام الميكنة الزراعية أثناء الزراعة والحصاد عن مثيلتها من التوليفات الأخرى، لذا أوصت الدراسة بتشجيع الزراع على تبني فكرة استخدام الآلة الزراعية بجانب استعمال التقاوي المحسنة في إنتاج محصول القمح لتشمل جميع المساحات المزروعة بمحافظة الوادي الجديد بصفة عامة كلما توافرت الإمكانيات لتحقيق ذلك.
